To all the Parish SCC Coordinators, Archdiocese of Bombay
My dear Collaborators,
We are in the Easter Octave, and I take this occasion to wish you and all the SCC Animators and Coordinators of your parish community the joys of the Risen Lord. May the Risen Lord Jesus fill us with HIS peace and comfort, particularly as we journey through these troubled times of the pandemic.
Over the past two to three weeks, I have personally experienced a lot of joy and hope during the meetings I had with the Parish SCC Coordinators (between February 22 and March 08), in ten separate interactions, deanery-wise. Although we had met online twice since our last physical meeting in January 2020, I was looking forward to the physical meetings with all of you. Thank you for making the time and effort to be there; I missed those Coordinators who could not attend for some reason or the other. May the Easter season bring new life – Hope, Peace, Joy – to your families, SCCs and your parish community.
At the above meeting, several Coordinators shared positive feedback on the monthly Reflection papers sent to you (for dissemination to the clusters and families) since June 2020; this has encouraged the preparation of more papers; this month, we have a paper on helping children enjoy the holidays prepared by Ms Shefalle Karanjikar, an experienced catechist who enjoys being creative.
I am sure that you were pleased to receive the latest issue of Celebrating Community which has brought you up-to-date on various happenings across the Archdiocese; more news is available on our SCC website www.mumbaiscc.in. Please share the link and the copy with as many of your parishioners as possible. You may send news reports of your clusters, SCCs, etc. to bombayscc@gmail.com, with some high-resolution photos too!
The Quarterly Reports for January to March 2021 should reach the Archdiocesan SCC Office (by e-mail) by April 15, 2021; please try your best to keep to this deadline. I am grateful to all those Coordinators who make it a point to be punctual; may God bless you! We can be proud of the fact that the online reports are saving the environment (in this fifth anniversary of Laudato Si’).
May I also gently remind you that the Quarterly Reports for the months of January 2021 to March 2021 must reach the SCC Office via email by April 15, 2021.
My one request to you is to keep well. Stay safe. Wear your masks; sanitize your hands regularly, and most importantly, please maintain distance. You are a very special gift of God to us and to your family.
God bless you and the members of your family.
Yours in Christ,
✠Barthol Barretto Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay & Bishop in-charge of SCCs, Archdiocese of Bombay
