Gentle Smile of Mama Mary

Holy Family Parish, Chakala the SCC Steering Committee initiated a creative program titled ‘Gentle Smile of Mama Mary’, an art activity for children aged 3 to 15 years to express their love for Mama Mary through art.

The response was overwhelming, with 165 children participating and filling the parish with vibrant sketches, paintings, colouring, and crafts that became a true celebration of faith and talent.

A unique aspect of this program was the involvement of 160 SCC animators representing 101 clusters across 19 communities, who not only brought the children together but also created opportunities to interact with parents and family members. This strengthened bonds within the parish and highlighted the shared joy of nurturing young talent.

The highlight of the program was an exhibition on September 8, where all 165 artworks were displayed. The vibrant display became a true celebration of creativity and togetherness within the community. It drew admiration from parishioners and visitors alike, marking the event as a resounding success. Every participating child received a certificate of appreciation and a gift for their creative work.

The Gentle Smile of Mama Mary activity proved to be more than an art program. It not only encouraged children to explore their artistic gifts but also beautifully bringing the parish theme to life – Clustered in Christ.
