Reflection Paper - June 2025 - Jubilee of Communications

We have come together today to reflect on the message of our late Holy Father, Pope Francis, for the World Day of Social Communications. Each year, on the feast of St. Francis de Sales—patron saint of journalists—the Pope releases his message for this occasion, which is then celebrated on the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. In his final message, Pope Francis called on the Church to both reflect and respond actively. The theme he chose for this year is: “Share with gentleness the hope that is in your hearts” (cf. 1 Pet 3:15-16).
