SCC Rally 2022 at St Paul Church, Dadar

A Small Christian Community is basically ‘getting people closer to one another’ in an area or locality. The people share in the joys and sorrows of one another, reflect on God’s Word, participate in the Eucharist through Unit Masses, join community prayers, and even encourage talent, especially among the youth and children. A sense of community and belonging allows each one of us to become an extended family of brothers and sisters in Christ.

The enthusiastic members of the Parish Pastoral Council and Steering Committee of St Paul Church, Dadar organised and rallied its parishioners to participate in the SCC Rally 2022 with the theme ‘Communion of Pauline Communities’ on November 5, 2022. The Rally was held on the church grounds with an overwhelming attendance of 400 parishioners from 24 units.

The Chief Guest for the evening was Rev. Fr Christopher Pereira from Our Lady of Victories Church, Mahim. The Chief Guest and dignitaries were welcomed with a march-past parade, where each unit trooped proudly to the melodious music provided by Dot Sound, and held banners displaying the name of their unit and picture of their unit Patron Saint.

The highlight of the programme was the well-scripted skits and harmonious singing showcased by our parishioners. The diverse but relevant themes for the evening were: Hardships in Community Formation, Unity in Participation, Reaching out in Love, Family as a Community, Togetherness in Community and Being a witness to Christ. The skits portrayed the day to day difficulties a parish may encounter while building communities, efforts made by coordinators and animators within the unit, and display of the unbreakable bond in the neighbourhood to witnessing Christ in everyday living. The participants were

across all ages and linguistic diversity.
